Overview and review of the TITAN X2 Power rack

The TITAN X2 will put you back about $340 - $400. TITAN is well known for their very good prices compared to their competition and will get you started on your home gym. This review was originally posted in “which Titan rack to buy for under $500

Overview of the TITAN X2 rack

The TITAN X2 is the low budget version of the TITAN line up. With 2x2 steel tubes, it uses the least material to form a rack to achieve this. Based on your needs you can choose between a short 78” and a tall 87” version. The features and specifications of the X2 rack are:

Rack details
  • Includes (2) J-Hooks
  • 2" Fat Pull Up Bar and a 1.25" Skinny Pull Up Bar.
  • (4) Weight Plate Storage Holders
  • (4) Band Pegs.
  • 2" x 2" steel tubing
  • A welded frame adds stability and reduces overall height.
  • Westside hole spacing.
  • Bolt Down Floor Plates.
  • 6" Side Hole Spacing allows for accessory options.
  • Height: 87" or 78" (Tall or Short)
  • Depth: 28”
  • Inside Depth: 24"
  • Width: 46"
  • Inside Width: 42"
  • Static Weight Capacity: 3,000 LB
  • Weight: 226 LB or 217 LB (Tall or Short)

What is especially beneficial for this rack is that it also offers plate storage included in the price tag.

Pros of the X2 rack

As with the entire TITAN line up, you will save considerable money on a purchase compared to their direct competition. The X2 specifically has all the ingredients needed to get your home gym started. Definitely not to be scoffed at for a price of a family fancy dinner including a good bottle of red.

Cons of the X2 rack

The tubing is the smallest you can get from TITAN. I don’t foresee a lot of innovation coming to the lower end of the portfolio in terms of attachments. Apart from this TITAN is reported to struggle with their quality management at times when it comes to the finish of their products.

Alternatives to the X2

The T3 Fold back rack will give you the option to fold your rack back to the wall when it is not used for roughly the same amount of money tja the X2

If you want a rack and a bench you can look into the T2 and incline bench combo for roughly the same price as the X2.

Summary for the X2

The Middle of the road approach from TITAN on all accounts for racks.
