Stronglifts vs ketogains

Ketogains is a good choice when you can commit more time in the gym and also focus on your diet. Usually, this is too much for beginners. I recommend building better habits one step at a time. If you find easier to eat less start there. If you want to eat the same and get stronger go with Stronglifts 5x5.

Stronglifts and Muay Thai

Stronglifts is not the ideal pairing with martial arts. If you are a beginning fighter focus on your Muay Thai instructions and listen closely to your trainer. No need for extra work in the weight room, ask your master what to do instead if you want to train more. If you are a fully qualified Muay Thai fighter who wants to step up their game in the weight room, go for programs like Wendler 531 or the Juggernaut method. These are more suited to your level of fitness and goal set than Stronglifts 5x5.

Stronglifts vs Starting Strength

Stronglifts is the easier program to follow without a coach. Starting Strength is better suited under the supervision of a personal trainer. If powerlifting is your main interest both programs might be suboptimal.

Stronglifts and climbing

While Stronglifts is a great program to build strength and muscle it is not very specific to the sport of climbing. Your time is better invested on the climbing wall or doing calisthenics if your main goal is to become the next speed climbing world champion.

GreySkull and Stronglifts are both beginner programs. If you just are about to start, go with Stronglifts. If you already know your body and limits around a barbell you can sprinkle in a Greyskull cycle.

Stronglifts and weight loss

Stronglifts 5x5 is not ideal for weight loss. Cardio and proper dieting are better to achieve your weight loss goals. Stronglifts is still better than no activity at all. If you are overweight and therefore not able to run or even walk, Stronglifts is also not suitable for you. Always consult a doctor before embarking on a fitness program to lose weight.
