GVT is a classic which everyone interested in Strength should have done a least once in their life. An easier start can GBC as it is a bit less volume but with more focus on execution which sometimes lacks with beginners.

German Volume Training is easier to understand and more versatile while FST 7 is more specialized to the needs of bodybuilders.

GVT is the easier option for building muscle mainly for most. PHAT is the more professional individualized crossover program. For most people, GVT will be the better option. For athletes, PHAT is more promising depending on your available time.

Two programs which you can do which are similar to GVT are 8x8 and boring but big. Boring but big is more suited for beginners while 8x8 is great for pros who want to shift one gear down.

GVT and 8x8 are very similar programs with a focus on building muscle. Always be aware that diet is more important than exercise to achieve this goal. GVT is the go to when you are in full strength. 8x8 can be a good alternative on a cut.

GVT helps with strength by providing bigger muscles. However, it is more important that you master the movement patterns for whatever you want to be strong at. This will ultimately determine how good the results are.

GVT and Crossfit can be combined if you have 2 to 3 hours a day to spare. Otherwise, pick one of the programs according to your needs. Especially beginners have a tendency to want too much too quickly.
