Wendler 531 for mass
531 works for mass while developing strength at the same time if combined with the boring but big challenge. In itself, it is a rep scheme optimized for strength gains in increments with muscle gains as a sideshow. So if you want to get on the sage and become the next Ronnie Coleman, maybe opt for something different in the gym. If you wonder why I picked that picture, think about lost in translation, context, and the importance of these for understanding each other.

Generally speaking Stronglifts was designed for novices and beginners, not for intermediate lifters. Therefore Stronglifts might not be the ideal fit for you. Check in this articöle whether you are an intermediate or not and if you should consider Stronglifts 5x5.

Wendler for MMA
To make a long story short, if you have half an hour extra a day to train, need strength to punch harder, and can squat about 1.25 your own bodyweight, Wendler 531 is a very good and time-effective all-around program for MMA fighters.

Wendler 531 for athletes
The Jim Wendler lifting program is in my personal opinion a very time-effective way of building general strength on multiple levels for athletes with more than six months' time to do so. For quick, aggressive gains other lifting programs are more effective. Beginners/amateur athletes might consider a beginner lifting program before hopping into intermediate territory with 531.

Stronglifts for bulking?
Genrally Stronglifts is not the ideal program for building a lot of mass quick, if that is your goal. If you want to clean bulk and accomapny that by a well rounded multi purpose lifting program as a beginner, 5x5 is a solid and widely tested choice.

How long should I do Stronglifts 5x5 ?
All in all in the most scenarios, which is that you are a beginner doing this program, you will do it for 6 - 12 months. In other scenarios you will do 5x5 for the time that you can afford (off season) or until you have reached your goals (active recovery from injury).

Wendler training to failure
I would generally not recommend it. If you have gotten your priorities right you will have picked the wendler program to develop strength mainly and muscle secondly. Training to failure increases risk of injury and emphasizes muscle building. If you train to failure in Wendler you most likely should brush up on your knowledge about the program or pick a different, more agressive program to reach your goals.

What to do on off days for Stronglifts
The more experienced you are, the more you can do on off days on Stronglifts 5x5. Asking this question you are most likely a beginner. As a beginner, you should rest on rest days unless explicitly told otherwise by your personal trainer. Gradually increase your workload on off days once you get more advanced.

What equipment should i use for Stronglifts 5x5 ?
The basic things to use for Stronglifts 5x5 are a gym membership, barbell, lifting shoes and a belt. I personally feel like the wrist wraps are optional. However you do not need any equipment to start apart from a gym membership to start.
