Pros of the Buddy Lee

The Buddy Lee Jump Rope Design makes it easy to change jump ropes without having to use a screwdriver. The ropes also come in many colors for more fun to be had. Paired with very fast-spinning, this can be a good purchase for the serious athlete.

Cons of the Buddy Lee

The handles might be a little short for some tastes and it would also not work with the cables you might already have from other speed ropes from Rogue. It is also not made in the USA which might put some people of.

Alternatives to the Buddy Lee

Alternatives to the Buddy Lee Aero speed rope are:

The SR3 jump rope is the bread and butter model in the CrossFit community. If you are annoyed with the jump rope from the local shop and want to start with double unders, this is the one for you. It is part of many of the Rogue equipment packages and can also be bought in bulk to outfit an affiliate or college gym.

The SR1 jump rope is an alternative to get a bearing jump rope on the cheap. The SR1 also has bearing to make the rope run smoothly but the handles are not made of Aluminium. This makes them lighter and more cost-efficient at the expense of being easier to break.

The Rogue Pro Jump Rope is the ultimate jump rope from Rogue. It combines the speed of the speed ropes with the weight of heavy ropes to create the most challenging and satisfying jump rope experience from Rogue. This product is also fully manufactured in the States. Apart from the price, there is nothing bad to be said about it since its first appearance at the CrossFit 2016 games.

Summary For the Buddy Lee Aero speed

This is a solid jump rope from an excellent marine with a shirt handle. If you don’t like the screw on design from other jump ropes Rogue has to offer, then this is a valid alternative.

The Rogue heavy jump rope is a good alternative if you don’t want to do double unders and train more like a boxer. This will put more emphasis on your arms and shoulder muscles and teach endurance.

The Rogue Pro Jump Rope has been introduced to the public at the 2016 CrossFit games. This jump rope combines the weight of a heavy jump rope with the speed of a speed rope. If you are buying for yourself and only want the best, go for this one.

The Toomey SR1 is a solid upgrade for the Ambitionen affiliate gym or for weekend warriors who find their SR3 not challenging enough anymore. If you have the extra money to spend for a little more design and fun on your first purchase the SR1 is also reasonable compared to the higher-priced options around $100.
