Power rack on carpet

Probably the best option to have a power rack on a carpet with minimum drilling into the floor or walls are flat foot racks. These racks stand on solid rubber feet so they do not need to be bolted down.

Is 5x5 workout best for mass?

The   5x5 workout  is suboptimal if your main goal is adding mass. To achieve your mass gains first and furthermost is a caloric surplus based on natural resources. Abs and bigger muscles are mainly made in the kitchen and the gym only supports the growth. Programs which are more suited to muscle gains are German Volume Training or Jim Stoppanis bodybuilding template. Both of these work in the 8 - 12 repetition range per set which is the suggested optimum for muscle gain across many experts.

If you are a strongman competitor you will find a good option in the   Thompson fatbells. The   power block  is, in my opinion, an outdated design unless you really have no space available whatsoever.
