The most likely answer is about twelve times. If you start using the kettlebells with a volume that is aligned with your current strength level and you are not doing it already you should see improvements in the addressed areas after doing it three times a week for a month, which equates to 12 sessions. Still, there is more to it than meets the eye.

Edward Snowden reveals prism in 2013 and the Arab spring is in full motion. 2013 was also the year in which I got back into fitness after my fiancee told me that I am too fat and unattractive and she would leave me if I did not change anything. So I ran my first marathon in Dublin that year with a time of 3:58 and turned my life around. Daft Punk got lucky with Macklemore in the thrift shop that year. I had been using kettlebells for a while at home. I performed the double kettlebell swing and other exercises in a circuit without any formal instructions to support my marathon running. Once I started with Stronglifts 5x5 I ditched the kettlebells for a long time only working with the barbell. After reading simple and sinister by Pavel Tsatsoulin I rediscovered the beauty of the kettlebell as a warm up and general strength builder for powerlifting.

The kettlebell swing and the squat are both highly functional. Some people are afraid and intimidated by the barbell back squat and it seems like that many women are among them. The kettlebell cannot replace the squat if you want to get really strong. If your goals are fat loss and toning however you can skip the squat. Your calves and your butt will just not be as defined as for others who do squat or cheat with plastic surgery and camera angles.
