Stronglifts can be done every other day when you are already fit. Starters should focus on the program as prescribed. If you already have a full schedule of your main sport, also stick to your three times a week.

You can combine Stronglifts with the keto diet to lose weight while gaining strength. The main drain on strength comes from a caloric deficit. You don’t need to go on one me when on keto. While keto and Stronglifts will get good results for strength gains and weight loss it is unlikely to get ripped. This takes usually more extreme measures.

The main reason to deadlift in flat shoes is to shorten the range of motion. This effect helps you to pull more weight. A secondary benefit is that flat shoes keep the shins in a vertical position. This further helps performance. Compared to regular runners flat shoes also have no cushioning. This makes you more stable during the lift. Deadlifting with bands will especially address shortcomings in the lifters bar speed. The focus is on speed and not on maximum strength. They are programmed in once a week for 5 - 8 sets by 2 repetitions at 50 - 80% of one repetition maximum. Most gyms do not have the necessary facilities to perform the banded deadlift. Be prepared to bring the necessary equipment yourself. This is an exercise most suited to advanced lifters.

Stronglifts can be done with dumbbells except for the back squat. Therefore I prefer adjustable kettlebells for doing Stronglifts at home as you can replicate all movements. Ideally, you rethink why you do not want to do Stronglifts 5x5 like it was intended. This article walks you through and -you can contact me via pascal@marathon-crossfit.com for questions.
