Fold rack 

A fold rack will save you space and time. This rack has been designed in a way that it can be folded to a wall. Rogue has several different models from which you can choose. This is one of the best options if you want to save space and still park your car in the garage. When you are done with your workout just remove the pins and collapse the structure. This is probably one of the best inventions from Rogue to get your garage gym ready.

Bumper plates 

Bumper plates are one of the best options for using at home. Unless you already squat and deadlift more than 180kg for repetitions, bumper plates are the right way to go. You can drop them from overhead, use them on any surface, and go easy on your fingers and toes compared to steel plates. The only drawback is that you can not get as much weight on the barbell as with steel plates. 


Many people like rowers for their home gyms. One of the best sellers os the concept 2 rower for more than a decade. The concept 2 rower has various modes to choose from and the newer ones have modern computers that can interlink multiple rowers to race. Be prepared that a rower takes up a bit of space in your gym. Rogue has some good wall hangers to take care of this. 


For your gym, get an adjustable bench to maximize the applications for your personal training. Rogue has two different options, one which can do decline bench presses and the other which can not. I personally would go for the one which is adjustable in only one direction to save some money. 

Wall hangers 

Rogue has a wide array of options for hangers to store equipment on the walls. Jump ropes, benches, and even rowers can be hung to the wall to keep the central space free. Explore the options and be smart about where to store your plates, barbells and other gym equipment in your garage gym.


The barbell of choice for the general home gym would be the Rogue Ohio bar. If you want to go a bit more fancy lookout for the Fraser edition of the same barbell. Other options are the Thor and Pyrros bar. The Pyrros bar is a good choice for Olympic weightlifters while powerlifters might also want to look out the Thor bar.


Often overlooked, but still, very helpful items for your home gym are a whiteboard and a timer.
